Re: 500gb sata hdd
yes it can does run at 3gb also i have read on another site this..#
For Windows 2000 and XP:
Right click on My Computer.
Choose Manage (This will open the Computer Management window).
Go to the Storage category and select Disk Management
Right click the new drive (usually listed as Hard Disk 1) and "initialize"
You now have the option to partition and format the drive.
The default settings of Primary Partition and NTFS- Quick Format are recommended for most users
i have done this and it picks up my c drive my f drive but there is also one called back up file system fat 32 capacity 1.95gb any ideas as to wat that is just realised that it come up weva external drive is in or not...

It's more than likely a recovery partition.

yep thats right but only if the usb interface bit is working properly
ok right click my computer and then manage
click on the plus by usb and with this window still open plug in your drive, irrespective if the drive is formatted you should see the usb system pick up the interface and then the actual drive.
if that doesn't happen then doing the above is a waste of time.
if the usb interface and drive aren't picked up try an known working usb port or plugin a usb memory stick.
