On some of the channels, the sound is too loud, it's distoring, particulary bad on syfy. Looked in Home > Settings > technical and it's set to 100% - which i saw him do when he installed it - is there a way to change this? how do u get into the hidden menu if there is one.

I dont have a V+ HD box but i think it will be the same on them all not to sure but worth a try unplug the box from the back hold the UP and DOWN buttons on the box and plug the power lead back in but still keep hold of the UP and DOWN butons for about 10 seconds after plugging it in and it should take you to the system diagnostics page

yup same for the v+ box, sorry cant help with the problem tho

so frustrating, even with the TV turned right down on some channels the sound is farting and distorting - like it's being broadcast too loud. tinny too. Wasn't like that with my good old dm500 those were the days!

What else can you find in the Eng' Menu? Anything useful?

(Plugs are floor level still here, so me getting down to them is a PITA, Just curious before I go putting my back out to find out!)

Had a quick look at engineer menu. You can adjust volume, enable / disable IR sensor and then a bunch of stuff around frequencies. There is a bunch of information about hardware, connection details, log files as you would pretty much expect in engineer menu.
