been looking at getting a HTC, just wondered what can be done with them and how i would go about it, i.e. is there a guide to hack and install free apps

If your getting an Android HTC then you dont have to hack them to get the hacked apps onto your phone.
You just install from SD card, you just dont get the updates, but then the updated apps will again be there for free.
The free apps are on the market, and most are good.

If you get an Android phone, and you do want to "hack" it then its Called Rooting, there is loads of info over the net about it.

I have had my HTC for a few months now, have not rooted it yet, because have not had the need to, got all programs i need and lots more for free.

Me too, got mine at the weekend and i love it.

Got to say the nexus one is by far the best phone iv had inc iphone3gs the nexus its very easy to root as well

Im looking at a HTC desire as well, not an fan of apple so I wont get an Iphone..The Desire looks like a good piece of kit almost identical spec to the Nexus 1, Desire has more RAM though...but the noise cancellation is missing also hasnt got the same 3G capibility..so you'll get EDGE if you use it in the US fine for europe though.
As google are being muppets and not directly releasing the nexus 1 in europe..Im going to go with the Desire..Iphone killer....

Just got to find the best deal from orange,o2,t mobile or Three now.....
