am thinkinh of getting an Audi TT or X5 but can't decide which. Not gonna be new 03/04 plate.

Both are nice motors but I guess spoilt for chioce.

Any idea's?

Here's an idea...How many seats do you need...

More than 2 = X5
2 or less = TT

Two completely different beasts, strange call to make.

do you want a 4X4 that is NO good off road or a sporty coupe with no room for anything bigger than a bottle of wine in the boot

TT from that year you want either the 3.2 Quattro or the 1.8T quattro. TT was an innovative design but its the first of its kind therefore quite rubbish. Horrible understeer and in terms of luxury its rubbish.
In terms of speed, its also rubbish as all its competitors are much faster.
I'd look at a later version (04 upwards).

As for the X5, look out for blown turbo (can cost upwards of £1k repair) for that year. Very luxurious. Not an offroad car tho.

Alternatives to TT: Porsche boxter. BMW Z3 / Z4. Honda S2000
Alternatves to X5: Range Rover. Lexus RX. Mercedes ML.

Whichever you choose, they will be high mileage so make sure you do full history check, HPI and VOSA and call up main dealer if it states main dealer history.
