Would someone tell me what size dish I need to receive (Arabsat) Badr 4/6 at 26.0°E. I live in West London ?
I currently have an 800mm motorized dish (TM-2100) running behind a TM-6800 Super.

I am in South London and get quite good reception for Bard 26'E with motorised 1M dish and TM-6900 super.

all fine in south east london with 1M dish/quad lnb using dm500s.

im in bolton, north west uk and receive all channels on badr4 without any problems but as for badr6 and eurobird 2 forget it. ive done a few installs here in bolton using 1m iss dish and smart 0.1db lnb,s and and there fine and only have problems on the mbc beam in very bad heavy rain so im guessing that in london you should be ok for badr4 with a 1meter but if you have to have badr6 and eurobird2 then think at a guess 1.8-to-2.4 meter but your better off speaking to someone who knows the local reception conditions..

Looked into this quite a bit before I purchased my set up as I was keen to get Badr 4 as it shows Scottish football fta. Quite a few people in Scotland with a 95cm-1m perfectly aligned dish get the badr 4 channels although some of the weaker transponders are variable at night/bad weather. Badr6 no chance. A guy as far up as Loch Ness pulls it in with an 85cm dish and 0.1 dark gold lnb.

I have a 1m dish but the installer made a hash of it so I cant get it unfortunately. I cant get anything past 19.2e and 15w. Hoping to pull it in once i get round to sorting the dish.

Deanoboy, you should've insisted on at least getting Astrta on 28'E with the usual freesat channels...

I know that mate but given that he got chased out of my house I didnt really bother LOL.

i live in doncaster and have a tm5400 running a 90cm dish and get all channels on 26e nice and clear even in bad weather just depends who set your system up??????? did my own and its 10000000% bob on get the full arc 45e-45w

just having a play around with a triax 1.1m dish with a sky quad lnb, get 26e ok, but some slight pixelating at times on mbc chans, guess it would struggle in bad weather? its for a customer and i thought 1.1 would be fine in west of Ireland, might have to get a 1.25m now instead.

Lyngsat recommends 1.2m for bad weather and 90cm normally,
I cant get feck all from it here in Dublin using a 90cm dish.

i get it here in Galway on the 1.1m but it was hard enough to find it, easy to get 28.2 and 23.5 but not as easy to get 26, I even have a new meter, horizon HDSTM in the end I put the tv in door way and tweaked it that way.

Hello..

I was wondering if you could please help me out..

I was looking to get Arabset, which is also called badr i think. I need channels like mbc's etc and I saw only badr sat does that.

Currently I have a communal system but with no sat feeds and I have a SKY sat dish installed. Would that be fine for badr set or I would need to buy a dish +receiver?

Many Thanks
Nas

What Satellites can be achived from your location ?

Go to here Satellite Finder / Dish Pointing Calculator with Google Maps | DishPointer.com

input your location, address or post code etc.......

and if you look just below the map you have an option to show available satellites from your location.

Also tells you the required dish size required for each Satellite.

Very useful.

Might be worth a sticky if not already.
