my wee boy is turning into a shark fanatic, so ive had a brain wave. buy hima a fish tank and buy the wee silver sharks. so im looking for anyone near airdrie that has one kicking about, im looking for a complete tank doesnt have to be the greatest condition just something to get started.

they can grow to 40cm pal, you would need a 6ft tank minimum.

plus, they should be kept in groups! 3 minimum.

none of the "shark" type fish can be kept in the tank you suggest. 2 foot tanks, usually have 20-25 gallon volume. there is not one that does not need, at least, 50 gallons.
its a pain in the butt, as shops often forget to tell you basic stuff like this.

they grow to suit your tank, like goldfish and other stuff. they grow to the environment. the biggest i had them was about 4inches. thx for the post tho, ive not had fish for about 8 year and this looks a nice wee site.

no fish do not grow to their environment. sure, some, especially carp/goldfish, exhibit great variance of growth according to environment.

but its an old wives tale, and a harmful one.

you don't say how long each fish lived. but if you had it more than 3 years, and its only 4 inches. the fish is stunted, an extraordinarily cruel thing to do.

and NO. its not my opinion. its scientific fact.
