The picture was made with the Canon 5D mark II and a 400mm-lens. It consists of 1.665 full format pictures with 21.4 megapixel, which was recorded by a photo-robot in 172 minutes. The converting of 102 GB raw data by a computer with a main memory cache of 48 GB and 16 processors took 94 hours. With a resolution of 297.500 x 87.500 pixel (26 gigapixel) the picture is the largest in the world. (stand December 2009)

Are you sure it's Dresden ?
My dad says it never looked anything like that when he used to fly over !!!
Although he does say his photos were a bit smokey.

lol, that's nasty. :)

Stunning pictures though.

The quality when you zoom in is unreal . Some camera that

10MP cameras are fairly common these days, in a year or two we'll all have 20.1 MP cameras :)

Shame the optics will be cheap muck though. :)

when I zoomed into the gold statue I really expected it to be blurred and pixelated

how wrong was I lol

Agreed mate, that statue is a highlight.

Reminds me 18 odd years back when I had an old Philips CD-i player, it came with a demo kodak photodisk (different to a picture disk you get today) they were in a special format. You got upto 14 pictures on a 800mb cdr. The zoom was amazing, just like this.
