They have a child and deserve a house to bring their child up and not feeling as if they are outstaying their welcome at the parents home. If you read back some threads you will see he just started work and is going forward in life. So is it such a bad thing to do what you can to get a start in life? Must be great that you 2 can sit up on your pedestal and look down at folk eh ?

Feedback Score: 0 reviews | Re: Housing Advice i worked for the local goverment in housing for 15 years in brum, and brum has the largest council housing in this country (yes even bigger that london) Now i managed some area's and also had the joy of LOOKING at the housing registor only looking as its all done in house now so you will never see the people that make the choice of who gets what. but as managers can get people into homes if they bid for them but thats when they have a home thats been emply for a while (crap in other words) There is no real point in a letter from your inlaws now days but i would send 1 just to see if you get a responce. From reading your posts, it looks like your mom in law is not telling the council/benefits that you are living there as you said it would effect what money she gets.. this is risky in the benefits side of things but ok in the housing as no info goes between them unless someone tells the benefits (this happends more than you think) Also you said about just having your partner on the list with a baby on the way, this is not going to help you get a property quicker, the only reason to do this is so if you got a property then you would not have to say your living there for a while and get maxium benefits that she would be entitled to. i am not saying that is what you intend to do, also not saying that i care if you do as well.. you will have a better chance to get a home if there is more on the form to live in a property and also you should have a better chance of getting something bigger but dont hold your breath.. also when you hand in a letter from your inlaws saying you have to leave, you have to be propared to go into the council on the day that is started in the letter that you have to leave, with your suit cases and say "well we handed in a letter" as the council are normal people as well so they know many people do this to get a home quicker. If you do got in on the day when u are kicked out then you need to be propared to watch your partner be housed in a homeless shelter for mothers and babys and then as you work they would just tell you to rent somewere unless there was a free bed in a homeless shelter for homeless men. so you would not be together but just because your housed there dont mean you have to stop there! but when there you could wait another 6 months, as thats the time allowed in homeless shelters. if you was lucky they would put you in a bed and breakfast. yes they do this all the time!! but as you work you would find that you will be paying for it! sorry for all the negative info, but just want you to understand what you might have to be willing to do if you go down them roads!! Ther are a few things that i am confused about, if your partner is worried about her moms benefits does that mean that you are not on the housing registor with your partner? if you are, is it from the same address? The reason i ask the above is because if you are on the housing list as a couple but not from the same address then you will get extra points for "family" living apart, so if not it would be something that i would say/do just a simple letter like my mom dont like my fella so he cannot live with me and our expected child and its hard for us to see each other because of the situation. that goes a long way sometimes and will get you extra points. I dont know how far gone your partner is but i know that the council will not help you untill you have gone so far pregnant as they look at the chance of something happening and i know that sounds bad but its a facter! Also you could get a social worker involved not nice but they can push for a home! Or the better way would be to go and see your councilor as we have a election coming up they will jump through hoops to help you and if you tell them that you are being forced to live apart untill you get housed they will be on the councils back, and when you get a letter from a councilor you have to respond within 30 days!! then when you get the responce go down again and keep them on the ball as they will do there best to help you! i hope the info helps and good luck MB |
