Their own ruling states as follows..
Domestic violence is any threatening behaviour, violence or abuse between adults who are or have been in a relationship, or between family members. It can affect anybody, regardless of their gender or sexuality.
So i suppose the op is right in saying they should of left it gender free.

In my opinion the guv and their do gooders have created this problem. Parents are not allowed to discipline their kids without fear of some social worker who's never had kids trying to tell you how to raise you kids. Even the young adults who commit crimes only get a slapped wrist.
I say bring in national service for those who quit school to walk street and teach them respect, manners and a trade

Bloody hell reading this just me realise I sound old and I'm not even 40
