is it not a case of putting Firmware 1.5.1 on?

(not sure like can some one explain what all this wave 4 stuff is for me any way, i have a box liteon, think it has 1.6 on it, So this would not play wave 4 games, how ever my box does play everything....am i missing some thing?)

For banned consoles with liteon drive, instead of using activate disk, I just patched wave 4 games with wave 3.
The liteon requires fw newer than 1.6 to play wave 4 straight off.

Well i must not have come across a wave 4 game yet then as the last thing that i played that worked was a download of Forsa, So is that the new 1.6.1 that we would need to put on these drives to play wave 4, i thought you had to go back to an older firmware.....

I aint played enough yet, been about a year since I played shooty games so need training

I don't think there is an older non stealth fw for liteons. That means using 1.6, you need to use activate disk to boot wave 4.
The new cod and tekken 6 are wave 4 to mention just a couple.

ah OK, well have the new COD and going to make a copy of it tonight so i can play it on my old machine....has any one got a list of what firmware is needed for wave for for different drives etc.

(is 1.6.1 for the liteon's not out or have i had my head in the sand for the past week or so)

1.61 is available for benq and sammy so they boot wave 4 straight.
Hitachi and liteon have no 1.61 or equivalent but hitachi on 1.51 boots wave 4 straight.
Liteon on with 1.60 needs actaivate disk to boot wave 4.
