n900 on contract.

Anyone got the inside skinny?

The UK release is the 16th AFAIK, but I can't find definite sources on which carrier will have it on launch, and what the tariffs are going to be.

My contract ends in December, so I phoned Three and spoke to the Indian version of Stan Laurel, and got nowhere.

I also asked via web chat but they pasted a stock answer that they cannot discuss when new phones are coming.

After watching all the vids (Little pob turned me onto the new device) my nerdometer has been red all weekend.

Linux, firefox mobile, already running perfect ports of snes emulators, quake 3, wiimote support etc.

How kick arse is it going to be, to be able to play Sensible World of Soccer on the train? Oh yes!

i cant wait for this phone either, mines on pre order. Im getting it on a vodaphone tariff which is 600 mins unlimited texts and internet 18 month 39 quid and free phone. I cant wait. I ordered it through mobilephonesdirect (google it) as when i spoke directly to vodaphone, they had no idea what i was talking about lol. Hope that helps matey

Have you heard anything from MPD james?

I have just cancelled my 3 contract, as they have no frigging idea what the n900 is.

I'm wondering whether to just jump ship, and order from MPD/NokiaRetail (who seem to be the only peeps doing it).

haha im glad someone is just as excited as me mozr!

still havent heard anything from mpd but they did tell me it would ship mid month from them and i also read they would have it from the 16th (monday) so im expecting to get it in the week,

if u really wanted to stay on 3, play are doing it sim free but they dont have stock til the 30th apparently..

im thinking about ringing my local mpd store to see if they can shed some light today, i'll get back to you mozr..

Just rung my local store in wokingham and explained that the website now said delivery late november

matey told me that it was out monday and i should expect my handset tuesday / wednesday. hope there isnt some difference between the website and the retail stores now or i'll be fuming lol

Need a new phone mozr, Sory W995 that I currently am using is a bit rubbish. How good is the sat nav in your phone, any complaints so far? Does it really play SNES games, never did clock Super Probotector.

Does the phone make your pocket bulge? That could be a deal breaker for me.

hey all i did EVENTUALLY get one lol it turned up thursday just gone.

i pay 39 quid a month for 600mins unlimited texts and internet i must admit im not hugely impressed with it maybe its because its still in its infancy in terms of apps etc but im not sure, i just havent taken to it.

even worse ines was pulled from the downloads due to nintendo throwing a hissy so the best i have is a master system emulator. i have ines etc on file but i cant figure out how to manually install it.

glad you like yours mozr. maemo.org really is the site though in terms of learning how to use the damn thing lol

any must have apps / must know tips? i do have quite a few installed already
