hey guys,
following advice from another thread, im trying to set up a usb loader. i have the homebrew channel installed, and when i run the wiiflow app off of the card it brings up a wbfs-1 error and says there is no games on the hdd, but i know there is. im not sure if i have missed a step, i dont think i have a ios file installed? anyone about to give me a hand?
cheers

have u tried it with any other usb loader? some drives aren't supported. try loader GX or CoverFloader

i can get the loader gx to recognise the drive, but it loaded up and said the drive needed to be formatted, so i cleicked yes, now it doesnt show up in windows?! any ideas?

The loader gx is now letting me install discs to the drive, but i want to install them through windows if poss so i dnt have to use discs, otherwise it serves little purpose lol

did u originally format it as fat32 or something?

you have to use WBFS Manager 3.0 to format it. Windows won't recognise the WBFS file system, the only way to install games to it is with wbfs Manager.

i originally had it as wbfs, and put a game onto it, then when i installed the loader it said i needed to format again. now windows doesnt recognise the partition and i cnt find it with wbfs, its like its been deleted but i duno how to get it back lol
in disk management it shows up as free space, should i format it, then format to wbfs?

on mine, i have 2 partitions, the first is the WBFS partition that i used WBFS Manager to format, leaving about 10GB free (which i later formatted fat32 and is where i store wiiflow files, covers, etc)

I'd start from scatch. in the windows 'Disk Management' screen, remove all the partitions from the drive, as if it were a new drive. Then fire up WBFS manager, it should detect it and let you format it (don't use the full quota, leave 5-10gb as i have above). then, it should allow you to install the games onto it. As long as WBFS manager can see it, it should be fine BUT it has has to be the FIRST partition on the drive.

Once the games are on it, go into 'Disk Management' again and format the small 2nd partition (if done correctly at the end of the drive) as FAT32 and chuck the wiiflow stuff on there. Wiiflow 1.1. by default looks here for the system files.

ahh, that might be why they are not working, as i have half of the drive full of data, ill copy that onto the pc and format the drvie now :)
ill probs be back in a bit when i cant get it working lol,
thanks for the help
