Complete novice questions about the DW800HD
Hi guys.
After reading the reviews, I am seriously considering buying a couple of the DW800's and ditching my Pace & SA boxes.
Anyway - I have a couple of questions first:
1. Is the box single- or twin-tuner ??? There seem to be posts indicating both on here. It wouldn't stop me getting one, but the twin-tuner would be a HUGE advantage.
2. If I read everything correctly, the latest software appears to decrypt all channels. Is that correct, or are encrypted channels still encrypted.
3. Do these boxes require a viewing card of some sort and if so, what card/programmer do I need ??? I have a MiniSDK right now and Atmega cards, so would I need to buy new ones ???
Sorry if these seem like complete novice questions, but I really don't know anything about these boxes, other than the reviews and bits that I've read on here.
Thanks
Craig

Single Tuner, Although you can recored and watch another channel as long as its on the same transponder.

cable boxes like this do not require cards. All you need is a usb stick to put the f/w on and flash the box.

Fantastic, thanks.
Going to order a couple of these from Mash I think.
One quick thing though - How does this "same transponder" bit work ???
How many channels are generally on a transponder, and how can you watch/record 2 different channels on a single tuner ??
Sorry to be such a pain
Thanks again

I think there is about 6 or 8 ish but can vary. When you are recording SSP3 then go into the EPG you will see channels with a tick, this is the channels you can switch between.
As how it does it I dont know, more tech minded folk will give you a better answer for that one.

Never managed to move from the channel I'm recording yet. I'm either locked to that channel or it stops recording when i move to the epg... More than likely I'm doing something wrong LOL.
Regards.
