looking for some help gents..have been trying to resurrect my box that has been lying in the bottom of a drawer for a few months, spent hours at it last night and about to give up, this is my last resort!

DM 500c used to work fine on a DW image, tried putting DW2.1 on but have never got it working since. Last night I put a new DW2.1 image via filezilla in tmp folder, flashed it, then put magic file on, and followed the telnet commands. Still no joy, when i scan i get only 40 channels (no rte's) but they are all black screen.

I have tried so many different things at this stage, can anyone tell what i am doing wrong, or is the box kaput? The only thing i noticed with the telnet was that the file structure on my box didnt match exactly (no var/keys/bin i think)

Give the neutrino image a go m8, see if that sorts it. I know you used telnet but pay particular attention to post #2 by munchkin.

where are you based if its Ireland you need to do some other bits as they have goon over to N2

Thanks Jon, struggling away here, got the image flashed, magic telneted, did a scan and get only 10 channels, I know i need to do the extra piece but this is where I'm stuck, i ftp'd n2_Ireland_dreambox_fix.tar.gz to var bin but after that i'm lost, anyone got any ideas.

do i also need a cables.xml for ireland?

thanks wiz, the saga continues! I tried to telnet what u sent me and i fried the box so its dreamup time, so i am waiting on a serial adaptor here now. Will keep you posted...I'll get there yet

If you are anywhere near D24 I have a null modem cable you can borrow m8.

thanks wiz, I have one already but needed a usb adaptor so waiting on one from ebay, will let you know how goes. No great panic, I have a eurobox up and running, just resurrecting the dreambox for bedroom, lets hope giggsy has another free kick like last week in him
