Did it have some sort of encryption software with a password?
I read somewhere that people with a similar problem had to reload the original software to reset the password.
No, ordinary drive, can't understand it, hve only used the drive a few times so its fairly new, problem was after using the hp boot utillity.
plug it in, right click on my computer, select 'Manage' - in the next window, click 'disk Management' - it should be listed - see if it's got any weird partitions.

You've definately had 10Gb on it with out a problem? I only ask as the fakes are still going around...

It's not formatted in FAT16 is it? I'm sure that has a partition limit of 2Gb.
Either way it'll need repartitioning. Delete the 2GB partition and reformat using FAT32 or NTFS (noting that NTFS isn't compatible with xbox, PS3 and most DIVX players but FAT32 is).

Cheers guy's got it sorted, I had to boot off xp disk as no partitions were showing within windows and disk management would not let me do anything with it.
Booted from xp disk, deleted the partition then formated to fat32, sorted.
Cheers again for replies.
