Re: guitar hero 5

Brickblocked and regionfrii it to PAL, but also getting a blank screen

When I ran it through regionfrii it said it didn't look like a wii ISO image, so maybe its a bad rip or something else has been changed to the filesystem

Tried using NeoGamma R7 loader, and also ran it as a normal disc as ours is also chipped witha D2C chip. Same blank screen but did come up with the disc cion so its reading it okay

Just having a look at the options on the NeoGamma Loader to see what I can fiddle with, but maybe its trying to do an update for something which it can't do

I used to get this with the ocassional USA game that I had run through brickblocker long before the softmod was about and running games via the D2C chipthat

I had blocked it updating the game failed due to the stuff it needs to run not being available in the firmware

Re: guitar hero 5

Got this from another site:

Code:
Just read this:

GAF's Wii Homebrew Tutorial: http://gwht.wikidot.com/hermes-ios222-223

1- Download this http://rapidshare.com/files/273176559/uloader_v2.8D.rar
2 - UnRAR uloader_v2.8D.rar and copy the apps/cios_installer/ directory to sd:/apps/
3 - Start HomeBrew Channel and start the cIOS 222 Installer
4 - Read the warning message and push A
5 - Select IOS249 to perform the install with D-pad left/right and push A
6 - Select to Install Custom IOS 222 and select Use IOS36
7 - Wait for download and installation to complete
8 - Start HomeBrew Channel and start the cIOS 222 Installer again
9 - This time select Custom IOS 223 and select IOS37 merged with IOS36
10 - Download Configurable USB Loader
11 - Unzip the Configurable USB Loader .zip file and copy the contents of SDUSB-Loader_cfg41/inSDRoot to sd:/.
12 - If you downloaded a .dol file as well, rename the file boot.dol and replace sd:/apps/USBLoader/boot.dol.
13 - Start the Homebrew Channel and run Configurable USB Loader.
14 - Select GH5 game and in settings set it to use ios 223-mload

Save the settings then press A to play GH5 !!! - Rock on!

I wrote this guide by reading other bits from everywhere. The above is exactly what I did, step by step and it does work.

Re: guitar hero 5

But I don't use USB, I and probably quite a lot of others, use NeoGamma Loader R7 (non-USB) I'm still using the disc loaders

There is another thread elsewhere on the 'net that suggests installing the same .wad you need for Animal Crossing and the Wii Speak hardware ...... tried that with no difference

But, it did say the file .wad on the Guitar Hero 5 install is a more recent version number than on Nintendo's servers, so possibly we need this one ripped from the Guitar Hero 5 ISO

Also, there is now two different releases of GH5, by two different groups, so which one is working. The 'shine' release is supposed to be no good, but as I can't get past the black screen I can't confirm this either

Re: guitar hero 5

Trying another source ISO, but may have the same problem

Don't really play it enough to warrent the work to convert stuff to an external USB hard drive, plus buying one first ... but may play about with that eventually

Re: guitar hero 5

got this working with USB loader GX and running it off IOS 222 in the menu, before this i ran cIOS 222 Installer and selected Custom IOS 222 and then IOS37 merged with IOS36.
before running the game make sure you change the loader menu to load from 222 for that game
