    Re: Wii backups on DVD

You have to have a particular LG dvd rom to read Wii disks in a PC. Most DVD drives will not read a legit Wii disk.

You have a couple of options.

Using homebrew on the Wii you can use the Wii drive to ether backup the game onto a big enough SD card or USB flash drive, or use the Wii drive to backup the game over Wi-Fi to your pc.

    Or just downlod the game.

However you backup your game in order to play it a Wii will have to be softmodded or have a chip installed.

Thanks for the reply, and yes I'm soft modded

If I back up using homebrew does is save as a true ISO image ? and are the games really 4gig - this seems huge to me

    Re: Wii backups on DVD

It does do a proper ISO backup, the problem is that most games are not 4gig they are padded or have update partitions.

If you use the USB loader to play games from a USB hard drive then you can see how small some of the games are, as an ISO a game may be 4gig, but on the hard drive the game can be less than 1gig, or even half a gig.
