Any idea's how I can unlock my iPhone 3Gs please?

How to Jailbreak iPhone 3GS on Firmware 3.0 with Purplera1n

1. Download latest version of Purplera1n from purplera1n

2. Download and install iTunes 8.2.

3. Connect iPhone 3GS 3.0 to computer.

4. Backup all contents on iPhone 3GS.

5. Double click on purplera1n.exe to start running Purplera1n.

6. Click on make it ra1n button.

7. Wait for iPhone 3GS to enter recovery mode. And then Purplera1n will reboot the device.

8. After iPhone 3GS bootup, there is a app called Freeze which is the Purplera1n installer app on the Springboard. Click on Freeze to run it.

9. In Freeze screen, click on Install Cydia.

10. Cydia will be downloaded and installed. The status will change to “Finished” once the whole jailbreak process is finished.

11. If the Cydia does not show up after Freeze is completed, reboot the iPhone.

12. Launch Cydia and let it run all the necessary updates.

can i do tis with the 3g??

probably better double checking on dev-team blog to see if it works on 3g but i think it does mate.
i used redsn0w on my new 3gs the other day, am i talking rubbish but i thought redsn0w was the newer alternative to purplera1n as there was probs with purplera1n

Did he not just want it unlocked?

yeah but that was using purplera1n as far as im aware redsn0w is the newer and better version.

Yup, for the min redsn0w is the most updated but there isn't a lot between the two.

Old redsn0w used to use a deamon to hack in but neither do any more, i'm sure pruplerain will be updated soon, as far as I'm aware it's going to be called purplesn0w just to really confuse things.

bottom line is they both JB.
