Nokia N97 on 3 Unlock?

Anyone know how to unlock a Nokia N97 on the 3 network?

i cant c that happenin for a good while..normally u can phone up the network provider but with it bein such a new phone they want 100,s off pound to do it cuase they work out how many months are left on the contract..your best bet would b a shop local who does it..do go by anything on the internet cause all these codes are shite..the phone needs to be connected to a cable to unlock..you'll b stuck with a 3 sim card for the time bein..ill phone my local place and ask them and get back to ya cause if anyone does it..they can and lest that gives ya an idea

thats why i made sure i got mines on vodaphone

I wouldn't take it to an unlock shop yet m8.. The N97 is "SL3". There is only one box on the market that will detect the new simlock, and then stop.. All of the other boxes will "try". This will leave you with no network coverage at all.. ATM Nokia service centres are having to return all of these handsets back to base.

Even the DM3 boys haven't sussed SL3 yet. They were godlike for years, and were unlocking BB5's before anybody else (apart from the n70's, etc)

So there's currently no way to unlock a Nokia N97!?

I just bought one thinking there would be!!

nope..good investment for later on..i didnt even relise they were on 3..the only way to get it unlocked is from 3 but like i said they'll want more money than what the phones worth..u can always get a 3 sim card or not sure if its called turbo sims..worth a wee google
