sometimes after ive had a bath my ear starts to hurt and its always the same ear. it doesnt happen often but when it does it doesnt half hurt when you touch it and i also lose a bit of hearing in that ear aswell.

could it be the shampoo suds getting in my ear and im not rinsing it out properly. but then again it always the same ear.

ive had a cotton bud down there but that doesnt seem to do anything.

Dont have a real idea, possibly sign of infection? perhaps goto the chemist, mighjt be some drops to help you

Hmm sounds like you have a spider living in your ear, and when you wet it it gets annoyed. You need to put something else in there to catch the spider and that likes water, maybe a frog??

use an earplug when having a bath and never ever put a cotton bud right down into the ear canal as that will make things worse

Reminds me of me aunt when she was holidaying abroad. She kept having ear problems. She put a few drops of warm oil in her ear and out came some insect. Couldnt believe it! After that, she was fine.

also what oil did ya aunt use mate? maybe worth a try as im going to boots later to get some drops.

phoned the doc, cant get in till monday and i no it will be away by then

i dont think i shove it that far down, im always scared incase i hit the drum.

oh earwig mate, how big do you think my ear is? definatly not big enough to fit a frog down. lol

Using olive oil drops
1.Lie down on your side with the ear requiring drops facing upwards
2.Pull the pinna (outer ear) backwards and upwards (just backwards in children)
3.Drop 2 or 3 drops of oil, at room temperature, into the ear canal and then massage the tragus (the skin just in front of the entrance to the ear canal) - this enables the oil to run down the ear canal more easily
4.Stay lying down for 5-10 minutes and then get up and wipe away any excess oil with a tissue
5.DO NOT put cotton wool in the ear following the drops as this absorbs the oil
6.Repeat the procedure with the opposite ear if required.
This procedure repeated for two or three nights before attending an appointment for wax removal is usually sufficient to enable the doctor or nurse to remove the wax easily.


There is a liquid which your spray in, keep your head tilted and then tilt to the other side but cant remember what its called.. ,, used this in the past but knocked my sense of balance off and made me sick.. but i have suffered from labyrinthitis in the past..
