Sony has allegedly contracted two manufacturers to start producing slim PlayStation 3 consoles.
Based in Taiwan, the two companies will produce the slim console for a July delivery date, according to Kotaku.
The news coincides with reports from Ars Technica that Sony will cut the price of existing PS3 units to make way for a slim console in the autumn.
Sony is renowned for reducing the size of its machines, with the PSone, PS2 and PSP all receiving slim versions several years after launch.
