OK, that's not strictly true, £440 is the PAYG cost

on £35 pcm contract it'll still cost you £184
on £45 pcm contract it'll still cost you £84

So when O2 say you can't upgrade as they have already subsidised your old
3G then you know it's not true. as even at a conservative guess your buying the phone at cost on the £35 pcm contract and getting a minor discount on the £45pcm
