IMO it just makes the picture a sharper, it doesnt make it HD or anything though.. I had my wii on component on the Tv in my bedroom and now i have moved it downstairs but its only on scart and i noticed the quality of the picture has dropped. I know after playing a PS3 when i first put it on scart i didnt like the crap quality of the picture which made me go and but a component cable. It depends on if you can live with the quality of the scart tbh, i do say that im glad i got one aswell

lol. First time I played a PS3 it was Call of Dutey and it was running through a scart. I was totally perplexed and thought this just looks like a PS2 game, what's all the fuss about. Then set the HDMI up and the quality improved a bizzillion percent.

I have components for my Wii, look a lot better on my TV becasue it is a first gen 27" LCD tv (not HD ready) and the difference is more noticable on this hunk of junk... might not be that much more noticable if you have a more upto date tv...

They will happily rip you off for at least £10-£15 for non-gold plated leads, but it does have the logo ....


Go look on ebay, and you can get gold plated leads with P+P for £6, it just doesn't have the Nintendo logo or come in nice Nintendo packaging ... oh dear, so what



I plugged them into our Wii, HDTV setting was now available on our 37" non-branded LCD, and the picture is much sharper on the old 26" CRT TV you saw the difference as well. So it was worth buying them

Did the same thing with our DVD player, except bought gold plated medium quality SCART leads, picture quality was improved instantly just by changing to better cables with better shielding. Mind you at what do you expect with the crap they supply with DVD players, that you can buy for 99p from anywhere

I bought a wii component cable from these guys on Amazon UK and i was amazed how much more colourful it was and how much sharper the images were .

Good quality cable, posted in a jiffy bag though.

Yes definately get the component cables. Make it looks 10 times better, I hate using scart for anything now.
