Nokia DBox2 new tuner needed - Digital World Cable Satellite Console Forum

Hi guys

I have backed up my working image which auto updates off my Sagem and ftp'd it across to my Nokia and get the 'waiting for time' message.

I've bought the signal booster from Argos but it still won't display channels so I'm convinced the tuner has had it.

The BNR is through the roof, SNR is 54000 ish and the bitrate is 0.... after feeding direct from the wall no splitters through the booster.

I'm about ready to give it up as a lost cause unless anyone can fill me with confidence to replace the tuner, point me in the direction of a replacement or offer me a paid service to replace the tuner for me......

Otherwise it's going up the loft or on ebay as spairs/repair..

Tuners are not cheap. If your not certain it is going to fix the problem I wouldn't bother. Just thought I'd point you in the direction of a tuner and price :- See Linux@DBox2.net - Shop - Welcome in the Onlineshop of Linux@dbox2.net!.

before you go looking at tuners, try flashing a 2x chip image from fresh to your nokia as its different avias that are used on sagems and probably wont run on a nokia, cheers joe

Believe me mate, I've tried probably every image going on this Nokia, it looks more and more like the tuner to me.

I've done Nokia's and Sagems before and not had any bother.

I was contemplating trying one of these as reccomended by someone:

Linux@DBox2.net - Shop - BFG94

but to be honest, I'm just about ready to give up on it. This box is for the mother in law as a favour but I think it's going on ebay today as faulty.

I don't like things beating me but this one has me on the ropes.

Hi again guys

Sorry for keep, keeping on but I've opened up the DBox and it appears the tuner has already had a tampering as the case is damaged.

I've taken the cover off the tuner exposing the the back of the antenna and I may be mistaken, but shouldn't there be a coil or wire coming from the centre of the antenna port that then goes into the circuit board?

I've drawn a red arrow on to illustrate the position where I think it should be.

I've also attached an image I found where it shows the missing wire from the antenna which mine has missing.

Is it a box you've recently bought or have you had it working before?

Had it given me to try and fix as guy who gave it me said it just stopped working.

He bought it off somebody else and I'm trying to fix it cause he doesn't want it.

Hopefully a quick soldering job may tell me if the tuners other parts are ok.

No wonder I'm not getting any transponders when I scan!
