I am urgently in need of a business account(started a new business, ltd company) . I have applied with a few high street banks but have been refused. Probably because i have a poor credit rating. i do not require any credit or overdraft facility only a debit card, cheque book, paying in book. alliance, hsbc,natwest,barclays,lloyds all no good.

any suggestions pls....

i managed to get one from barclays m8

my credit score is lower than my morals, and they opened a basic one for me, no net banking, no overdraft, no visa debit card, just a cheque book and cashpoint card, i only wanted it to accept cheques in a business name

after using for a while, (less than a year) ive got a debit card and a credit card to go with the account, and online and phone banking

hey thanx, did you take any documents with you or did you just say i want an account no credit and they offerd you one?

Strange I had no problems opening a business account.

Its probably better to use your own bank because they already have a history with you.

I cant see why they would not because you do not want an overdraft or credit, so they should just give you a paying in account ?

I've got an abbey account and there are no fee's like all the other banks.

They're good but feel that they maybe going donwhill a bit since they were taken over by Santander.
