Everton
I don't support any particular football team but am I just writting this as a fan of football in general.
Just like say I really enjoy the spirit of the Everton squad. They are all hardworking and focused and make the best of the players they have as a squad of players.
My prediction last night was that Everton were going break after battling hard in their last 3-4 games and lose atlease 0-2. But fair play to them AGAIN taking advantage of the poor form of Liverpool and staying focused to get that last, last minute goal.
To me, Everton seems like the kind of club a true football fan would be proud to play at and wouldn't want to leave to go to a more glamourous club for a bigger wage.
If I could play football I would be very proud to an Everton play I think!!

Re: Everton
they've had some really tough games recently, 3 x lpool, 1 x arsenal & 1 x Utd. But being at home for the replay, they were always favourites IMO. Played some good football and deserved to win. Osman missed a sitter though, woulda been no need for xtra time had he scored.

Re: Everton Think a lot of it must stem from David Moyes & his backroom staff. Even at Preston he built the same spirit. Certainly seems a decent coach, or at least man-manager.
Then again with the money these guys are earning you'd expect them to be 'bursting a gut' every time they play.
And have you seen how high Tim Cahill jumps? Seems to hover way above where you'd expect him to be. But Fellaini defo needs a haircut.......
HH.
(Apologies for starting consecutive sentences with And & But)

I am a very smug Blue fan who works surrounded by Liverpool fans who tell me how bitter Everton fans are. Today in work not one of them would admit that EFC deserved to win the game. I just sat and smiled all day.
Ex player Dave Hickson summed up what how it feels to be an Everton Player...
'I'd break every bone in my body for any club I play for but I'd die for Everton.'

Re: Everton
that quote was wrong for the present everton squad
'I'd break every bone in there body thats any club but Everton.
i watched the game last night and yes i suport liverpool
the only thing that pissed me off is when any liverpool player got kicked , elbowed and went down the everton suporters boo'd
plus if we had the cheeck to take the ball off them they cried foul
i dont mind getting beat if the other team deserves it
but everton didnt
i remember when we used to play the counter attacking game we where boring
but everton made us look like we where attacking all the time
what was fun though is thats evertons season over the have beaten us thats all they aim for to win or to take points off us
did u see them last night i thought they had won the league the cup and the bleeding world cup lol

Re: Everton
do i detect sour grapes david lol.
IMO everton deserved the win and WERE the better team once you's were down to 10 men, yous were the better team before but once that red card came out you could sense everton were gunna snatch it and had the better chances

i agree totally and I am a red.... everton did deserve it after that headless chicken got sent off. I will never understand how he gets in our squad let along ahead of mascherano!!!!??? completely clueless... how many more chances is rafa goin to give him to loose us points and ties???
if i see his name on the teamsheet at the weekend i may have to switch off and get the decorating done
SO frustrating!!!

Re: Everton
c'mon davidh, were u expecting everton supporters to feel sorry for players!? Its a derby for crying out loud... Ur supporters were too busy throwing socks at the everton players... Everton were the way better team, wanted it more and played with more passion and commitment.

davidh. Do I work with you? This all sounds very familar.
I thought the game turned when Gerrard went off injured. That was a big blow to the reds. Torres (in Jags pocket for the whole game) still doesn't look match fit and Alonso who was great in the first half was overhitting everything in the second half (apart from the best pass of the game).
Lucas's first booking was a joke. His second was probably deserved. So he didn't deserve to be sent off but he wasn't doing much anyway.
I agree that blue fans over-celebrate when we beat you. I think it's the relief of being able to go to work and not have to see those smug red noses telling us that we weren't too bad. It doesn't compare with your polite applause and shouts of 'bravo' when you beat us.
You battered us in the other 3 games this season and deserved more than a win and two draws. The fact remains that football is a funny old game and your zonal marking is even funnier. To give you credit though, it only took you 3 games to figure out you need to go man to man on Cahill from set pieces.
What were there socks all about? I know it will be something clever and funny and the humour might be beyond a blue-nose but I wouldn't mind knowing.
Our season is over now but yours seems to be in free-fall. Rafa Bitterness appears to have lost the plot ever since his 'Keegan' moment. I sense a lot more dissapointment for you before the season is over.
Take care.
