Fake DSTT detector and RECOVERY!

For recovery... Just put the .bin file and recovery.nds file on the mem card.

If you have a working dstt you can simply run the .nds file from the good dstt and then swap to the bad one when propmted by the recovery programme and then it will flash the .bin file.

If you don't have any working dstt's, put the dodgy version of 1.16 firmware on (inc in download)with the recovery files and keep starting it until the dstt eventually boots, it seems only the 'bricker' 1.16 can boot on already damaged fake dstt's in about 1 in 20 attmpts. Anyway once booted run the recovery .nds file and flash.

of course destroy the dodge 1.16 files as soon as the recovery has suceeded, don't even test the fix out with it, not even once

I tested this personally and now have a fully working, formerly dead, fake dstt running 1.15.

I've not tested the fake detector file, though i guess it's simply a matter of running it.

I cant run the recovery.nds, I get the message:

DSTT Fake Recovery 1.16a
Invalid CARD.

Try this one, another version was released...

Btw the latest news on the fake-dstt and bricker firmwares is that even the older 1.15 at ndsst.com now contains bricker firmware!! the crc has changed on the file from the previous 1.15 that was up on the site... so just grab firmwares from.. hxxp://www.cndstt.com/ or hxxp://www.dstt-adv.com/ instead

New fake checker
New firmware flasher (supports more clones)
New 1.16 ttmenu.dat (with killer code removed/stopped, runs rom 2838 which is the only fix in 1.16)

So do I just copy these files to the root sd card and then plug it in ?

Dutcho...I just used the flashchecker.nds and the flashwriter bin to the root of mem card, then run the flashchecker.nds (just like a game) in a working card, it then asks you to put the faulty dstt card in, do not turn ds off, just put the mem card you were using into the faulty dstt and put it in the ds and run it. Thats it.

But I dont know If I have a faulty one, pmsl.

I just got 2 new ones and have managed to find an old sd card but dont have a scooby doo what to do with the foookers, lol.

If you dont know if they are faulty, then try the 1.17a firmware 1st which FL posted.

Yes m8, just replace the other firmware with that v1.17a one, if it works then well and good but if not then try flashing it with the one meangreenie posted.

You just got them...are they fakes ??? (not that it matters for 1.17a, it runs on real ones aswell)

Dutcho you just need the OS/firmware files on the mem card.

here's a safe OS/firmware for all DSTT's fake or real... hxxp://www.dstt-adv.com/download/V1.17A%20Eng.rar

just unpack and put the files and folders in the on the root of the memcard

you can run the fakechecker .nds file at any time to see if have a fake or not, if it says 'true' then you don't have to worry about any 'bricker' firmwares/OS

don't run the recovery stuff unless you need to, ie you have a 'bricked dstt'

I have a question

The firmware from the site listed by meangreenie, is it v1.17 with the fake killer code removed or is it just a renamed copy of v1.15?

To some that my be a dumb question... but hay I had to ask.

Not sure what version the dstt-adv firmware really is, you could try running rom 2838 with it and if it works then it's based on 1.16.
