Hey guys is it possible to flash back a benq drive to original f/w if its got the dreaded E74.Only a mate of mine wants me to flash it back so he can send it off to microsoft for repair.The security seal is intanct as i used a hair dryer to remove it when i first flashed it.Do you think he could risk sending it back even tho its flashed or can they tell if its been flashed or not.cheers

isnt e74 one red light the cpu heatsink stuffed up with dust?

i have just sent of my second box to m$ and got the first one repaired(about 18 months ago) and just waiting for my last one to come back thuresday i think both where flashed and the last one didnt even have a m$ sticker so hope its sorted. only thing is i have heard most repaired box's come with lite on dvd's but the new extrem software for it comes out on the 24th.when you phone them just say you have the rod and they will should fix it that is if you are over a year old. if under a year tell them truth.but i am 99% sure the cant tell if you flashed.

ive sent back 2 flashed 360's that didnt have rrod but were over a year old, both were sent back fixed!

m8 sent a flashed 78 back with one red light (video chip) said it was rrod and was 18 months out , just got a benq one back ..(from Germany )

I got a benq drive back from germany about a month ago. I am due another back tomorrow, hopefully with a benq as well.

my mates elites just got a RRoD and wants me to take the firmware back to the original one

the sticker is still on but you can tell its been pulled off? you think they'll fix it?

Take it off and clean any residue.

I sent one back like that no problem
