Vista recovery

Let me guess, it didn't come with one? Nor did my laptop, if I hadn't had a Vista anytime disc I'd have had to make my own! (instructions came with laptop)

If you can get to the desktop grab a copy of Activation Backup & Restore (here: ABR (Activation Backup and Restore) | directedge.us) if you cannot get to the desktop just use your key on the licence sticker. Grab the OEM image from the usual place you get your downloads from.

is for my mate so i wll need to stick it onto disc for him to put into the pc to run from

If using the ABR tell him to move the file created off the drive being formatted (i.e. to a memory card or thumb drive).

he isnt the best with computers mate tbh and i havnt the time to go round and sort it out. cheers for the info anyway mate plus you lost me with ABR
