Feedback Score: 0 reviews | Re: IE7 Problem The slow down happens quite randomly. Sometimes it will start to slow down after 5 minutes other times it will work fine for a few hours. When it does start to slow down it only takes a few minutes before no pages will load at all and IE7 has to be closed and re-opened before it works again. It may be a coincidence but the problem seems to have started after I壇 installed FireFox. I removed Firefox but the IE7 problem remains. I致e just flushed the cache but its too early to say yet if thats solved the prob. |

I don't have any scheduled events running, except for disk defrag which only triggers on Friday at 18:00hrs. Even when IE7 grinds to a halt all my other programs such as outlook express,MSN etc still connect fine. I don't have any proxy settings setup either, it's got me well stumped mate |

Feedback Score: 0 reviews | Re: IE7 Problem Tool > Internet Options > Settings > Check the size of your temp folder. go on msn.co.uk and keep pressing refresh for 5 minutes, i know it sounds silly but let us know the result. Sometimes refresh doesnt work and you have to browse around > see how long it takes to slow down or even stop. Then check the size of the temp internet files. |

Anyone got any ideas how to solve this prob? you have the answer in your hands use firefox it is far better and more secure any torrent site will advise this IE7 is a pile of pooh and leeks like a sieve it is probably the fact it has to check every website you log on to with a MS database this alone slows it up firefox with adblock + IE tabs and flashblock will keep your speed at maximum edogg |

Feedback Score: 0 reviews | Re: IE7 Problem I looked in Tools > Internet Options > Browsing History > Settings The disk space to use for temporary internet files was set to 50mb. I've upped this now to 250mb. Since flushing the cache last night it hasn't slowed down or stopped today so I'm keeping my fingers crossed ![]() I'll let you all know if it remains stable or if it goes pear shaped again later on. Thanks for all the help & suggestions guys |

Feedback Score: 0 reviews | Re: IE7 Problem Actually, Firefox is well known for having this sort of problem. However, your soloution there should work fine - did you ever alter that limit before at all? It seems to be very low... If all else fails, try Chrome - its better than Firefox! |

Feedback Score: 0 reviews | Re: IE7 Problem Sorry, just checked a previous post, u got Zone Alarm running. Try shutting that down completely, so its not even running. You still have windows firewall for basic protection and a hardware firewall if behind a router. edit: u might have to go as far as uninstalling the firewall as it may have a service or two still running.

It's currently still working ok mate. 9 hours it's been running now without the slow down & stop issue. I hadn't altered the settings in Tools > Internet Options > Browsing History > Settings until last night. It must have been set to 50mb by default when I installed Vista. Thanks again for all your help guys | |
