@Pinky/Digi .....LNB switch help

ok i was going to put put a sky dish up for freesat but, i didnt get the time this year to put up a sky dish due to the piss poor weather so have put it of till next summer.

But in the meantime i still have a problem with my motorised dish and unpluging the coax everytime i want to use freesat on my TV.

As a temporary cheap measure could i use one of these, 1 LNB into 2 recievers switches (called the AB switch in the loink below). i know its manual switch but it beats unscrewing the the coax from the wall all the time.

Satellite systems. Satellite Accessories, video senders, Diseqc switches, LNB brackets, Satellite Superstore UK, low prices

any words of wisdom??

Hasn't your box got a LNB output? Many boxes do. If not there is somthing called a priority switch that automatically switches between receivers.

A manually A/B switch will work fine, the priority switch may work and is similar to using the loop through on many receivers as Redeye I says.

I've heard a loop through can cause problems, is that true? I think my TM9100 has a loopthrough......what would you suggest use the loopthrough or the manual switch?

Re: @Pinky/Digi .....LNB switch help

Try using the loopthrough. Just use the tm to move the motor then before turning on your freesat device make sure the tm9100 is put into standby.
As long as both devices arent on at the same time it should work. Then when you want to go back to the technomate you will just need to turn off your freesat or go to freeview etc before the tm comes out of standby and takes back control of the motor.

If you dont have success then go for a manual a/b switch as the priortiy switch will basically be the same as using loopthrough.
