Police were today investigating the murder of a paedophile whose body was dumped in woodland.

Gordon Boon, 73, of Norwich, was found dead in Great Witchingham, Norfolk, on Monday.

Post mortem tests found he died from strangulation, police said.

Sources close to the investigation today confirmed Mr Boon was jailed for six years in 2001 after being convicted of sex offences against young girls.

A police spokeswoman said: "Officers are following up a number of lines of inquiry."

Mr Boon was last seen alive near to the Maid's Head Hotel, in Norwich, on 3 October.

Stangulation was too good and quick for him. It's a pity he never got a real nutter that applied some torture for a good 24 hours before killing him!
