Playing movies in Xbox360 vis USB stick?

Can this be done? And if so how do you do it?

If its big, format it with MacDrive and use it as an External HDD

You need to be signed in Live to play XviD's though.

ive been doing this since the 360 started supporting divx/avi with no probs at all except thinking on occaisonally the odd codec isn't supported so movie wont play this as been rare though i havent tried wmv-hd from usb stick as i only have a 2gb one but again have had no trouble use a ext-hdd formated with macdrive 7 plenty info about this on here mate. if im right oggy you dont have to be signed whilst watching xvids mate but you have to download the update as a one off if you havent allready done so.

No, the update is a sly one, you get the media codec in the update, so it recognises it - but will not play if not signed into Live.

Yea its a bit sly that. I use TVersity - Home and access all my media directly from the pc. Its pretty very easy to do.

i didnt know that oggy thanks for the heads up mate, i thought id used it without live before when my erm "drive" wasnt upto date.

I watch films all the time from my USB stick and i've never had to sign into live yet mate all i had to do was download the codecs first before i could play them.
