And never, ever, ever do what I did.
I forgot to unplug mains when I reached my hand into the PSU to plug the new fan in. Let's put it this way the PSU reminded me that I hadn't isolated the mains, lol. Or rather not lol, as the case was!!

Or it may just be a plug in fan, so nice and easy if it is.

I managed to strip mine a few years ago as a short term measure as it was noisy.
I cleaned it as much as possible and put a fine smear of oil on the fan to buy me some more time before replacing the fan unit completely.
The capacitors in these things can hold a big-a$$ charge & give you a hell of a belt, so be very careful, if in doubt, leave it to someone who know's what they're doing (or someone you don't like).

The fan spindle will probably have a sticker over it, remove it and use 3in1 oil which will lubricate the spindle.
This will probably only give you a few months grace before a new fan is required.

the best lubricant for that is WD40. It won't damage the electronics

Thanks guys, I'll have a look at it soon, without the power connected, proberbly take the fan out and take it with me to get a replacement.
