i downloaded a ps2 game and when i opened the file
it was an MDF FILE WITH A MDS FILE NEXT TO IT.
HOW DO I GET THIS ON TO DISC TO PLAY AS
A BACKUP WITH MEMOR32

Alcohol 120 will burn mds/mdf files and I think decrypter also burns them, I usually just rename them to ISO but that may fail.

Just like cue/bin files.

don`t think you can m8,as the memor32 patcher will only patch ISO`s,i have tried it and it would not load up in the ps2,even tried converting the MDS file to an ISO and still wouldn`t work.

The OP only asked for how to get the mds/mdf onto dvd, he didnt say whether it was a patched dvd or not.

Any PS2 game needs patched then you can burn it again with decrypter. Just patch the mdf or Iso.

You need to get MementoDiscPatcher, better info at link below.

as i have already said i tried patching the mdf and burnt it and it didn`t work,i think you can only patch ISO`s and get them to work as i have already explained, just trying to save the guy wasting discs

Dave I know you are trying to save him discs but together we can get this to work for him, we are all here to help each other.

He could mount the mdf and read it to his hdd with decrypter as an Iso and then patch it or he could use MagicIso or UltraIso to create an Iso from the mdf.

jaffa,i did this with decrypter and it was still no go,i ended up downloading it again making sure it was an iso image and not an mds image m8

Strange m8, because decrypter is what is used in the tutorials and it creates mds/mdf files. Maybe it was an Alcohol mdf file or just corrupt.

Good posts though Dave as it will save him time and money...if he comes back.

i actually tried it on 3 games,tomb raider,top spin and god of war 2 and none of them worked,might have been me but i couldn`t be bothered fannyin`about with it so just downloaded god of war 2 again,as this was the only one with another release in an iso format and it worked ok.

wouldnt something like magicISO convert this to an iso
