Took mine to Vodafone shop and they did it there and then for nowt...
It was out of contract and I was moving to Three, the guy at the Three shop tried to get me to drive to his mates market stall in the next town, and he would do it for £25 LOL
If you are sure it is out of contract, TMobile might be as generous as Vodafone.
