Right as said earlier i have my dm500c all up and running on DW2.0
but now im into tinkering..
heres what i cant seem to do...
1. mount a folder on my PC to record and play back from
2. connect to the internet updates to get the games and such posted in the latest update (i get the latest update cvs.. just cant access the files times out)
just so ya know what i have done..
i have a benklin router.. ips assigned via dhcp.
pc :192.168.2.2
DB: 192.168.2.4
i can use the web interface and controll the dbox
BUT i cant mount a shared folder from the pc (folder name DB500)
i have a non passworded account and tried the usual. Guest/Neorage.. without passwords.. no luck
are ther any ports on the router that i must open to allow the connections..
Cheerz
ps.. one other thing are there different skins available for dw2.0 or perhaps a ckin creator to design my own skin.

16th January 2008, 19:11 #2 If you're setup with DHCP then you should be fine. As long as you have the router ip address in the Default Gateway section, it should fill in the ip address and dns nameserver sections itself. Remember to save, then reboot the box via the shutdown menu. Try the addons again once the box has been rebooted. Sometimes it's necessary to shutdown the box in this way as it saves settings when it does it.
See -->here<-- for a guide on how to setup a mount for direct recording.
Your PC account must have administrative rights. If it boots up to the desktop, i.e. no password required, then leave the password field blank and only put in the username of the accoount.
Make sure the 'File and Printer Sharing' is enabled in the network properties of the ethernet adapter you're using.
Make sure the folder, i.e DM500, is shared on the PC.
If you can ftp and access the web interface then you're almost there. It's probably something to do with the mount settings. I always use the web interface to mount rather than the remote and on screen menus.

16th January 2008, 19:15 #3 pc dosent boot direct to desktop, just have to click the user name.. no password required..
im familiar with networking myself just cant understand why not mounting.. im guessing a login issue... eg DB->trying to login to ->PC
as for the addons i reliased my error, it now pulls the download list of what i can addon, however when i press ok or BLUE to download the addon i keep getting a time out error (time ou attempting to connect to [dwwebaddy]/500/etc.tar.biz)
is that a server issue or connection issue ?

16th January 2008, 19:18 #4 Server seems to be working ok.
You can get funny errors if you haven't rebooted from the shutdown menu. Did you do this?

16th January 2008, 19:30 #7 Try disabling DHCP and assing a static ip address, even just use the existing one.
Make sure the router ip is in the default gateway section. Save and reboot from shutdown menu and try again.
