    Car trouble - power loss

Hopefully someone can assess damage and how much it could set me back.

My wife HAD a nippy wee 16valve Toyota Corolla, but it now has no power and stutters when accelarating. Tried adding some Redex to tank, but still same.

    Any help needed.

Its obviously misfiring under pressure mate but like smirnof says we need to know the year etc if its a late model it could be a coil pack if its an old one might be just the plugs .More info required

Also check for oil inside the distributor cap these are prone to the oil seal on the diss leaking

This happend to me a few year ago with a jetta TX i changed the leads sparks and distributer and it still was loosing power under throttle but only on and off i put it on ebay and it only went for £60 cost me £500.

the kid come and picked it up on a tow then the very next day i seen the car out side morrisons and i got positive feedback saying best buy eva 20 mins to fix ?

thing is i had 2 mechanics look at the car before i sold it one said it would take £100 to narrow the problem down and the other said it would cost £150 to skim the gasket then i should sell the car

obviously it still gets on my tits i give that car away it was a lovely model and only 65 thou aswell fcukin twat

Sounds like it could be the leads or coil if the plugs are ok. I had a near enough identical problem with my Focus and it was the leads to blame.
