| cannot connect

Dear All
I am trying to update my dbox using filezilla.
I have input all the info needed
account
root
dreambox
dreambox
(got my ip address of the box)
Im using dw2.1, when I click connect it says connection astablished waiting for hello from box. Then after a short time it says timed out, server something???
Has anyone got an ideas why it wont work please or is there another ftp client I can use to make a connection.
