i have 2 desktop pcs with a netgear router and wireless pci cards but when i connect utorrent to download it says there is a problem connecting port not forwarded propperly.

how do i open a certain port on my router/pc?

i am also running mcafee firewall and avg antivirus

You'll probably have to configure Mcafee as well, or maybe even disable it's firewall during connections if it's a tricky one. Not a lot of point in port forwarding it straight to a software firewall thats blocking the same port numbers !

tried this cant get into my router the default user name and password is wrong any ideas
