    Heinze ignores transfer talk

Reds defender Gabriel Heinze insists he's taking no notice of current media speculation linking him with an Old Trafford exit.
Instead, the 29-year-old has his sights firmly set on leading Argentina to the final of this year's prestigious Copa America tournament.
"Nobody at United has told me I'm not wanted next season," Heinze told the Sunday Mirror. "I have just enjoyed one of the best years in my career [and the team] played sensationally."
Heinze, who made 38 appearances for the Reds in the 2006/07 campaign, has allegedly attracted interest from some of Europe's premier clubs, including Real Madrid, Juventus and Barcelona.
"I know rumours of transfer offers have appeared, but that's not a problem for me. My head is with the Argentina team and the Copa America."
Argentina face the United States of America in their opening Group C clash on 28 June.

    Question New setback for Saha

Manchester United striker Louis Saha is expected to be out until November after undergoing knee surgery.

Saha missed the close of last season with a knee complaint as his injury-hit Old Trafford career showed no signs of slowing up.

He has now had an operation on his knee in America and his agent Ranko Stojic has confirmed the France international's absence.

Stojic also revealed that there is now no chance of Saha leaving the Premiership champions before the start of next season.

"Louis has had surgery in America and he won't be on the field now for a few months," Stojic told the Manchester Evening News.

"There is no question that he will be changing clubs.

"He's been unlucky and it is very important now that he gets back to 100 per cent fitness.

"I don't know when he will be able to start training again, but he is looking at being back around November or December. But it is going to be a while."

Saha's injury will likely intensify United manager Sir Alex Ferguson's quest to bring a new striker to the club over the summer.

Reports had claimed that Saha could have been used as a makeweight in any deal, or sold to raise additional funds, but the former Fulham ace will now start on another road back to fitness.

All i can see now is Fergie going out and buying a striker as he is injured yet again!!!

We need a young striker so lets hope Fergie gets one as we will need one!

    Currently we have these

    Ole
    Rooney
    Rossi
    Smith

With Ole being quite old can't expect him to play every game.

Smith future is unclear as he could leave with Keano interested!!

All in all there are 2 left only so we definitely need a new striker what do you lads think?

    Saha back for new season

Louis Saha 'fully expects' to be fit for the start of next season, contrary to earlier claims he would be out until November.

The Manchester United striker has undergone a knee operation in the United States and Ranko Stojic had revealed Saha would be sidelined until the autumn.

However, Stojic is no longer the France international's agent and his current representatives - Stellar Group - have issued a statement on the forward's fitness.

"Louis Saha is exclusively contracted to the Stellar Group who advise the player in all football and career-related matters," read a statement from Stellar Group.

"Louis Saha has absolutely no ties with Ranko Stojic, who has no authority whatsoever to speak on behalf of the player or his management group.

"Louis has successfully undergone knee surgery in America and is now undergoing rehabilitation in the South of France.

"He hopes and fully expects to be fit for the start of the new season and any claims to the contrary are completely false."

Still think we need a forward before the prem kicks off. Not too high on Torres as i just think hes overrated. Would have preferred Klose above all but Saviola would do nicely on a free.
Have to keep hold of Heinze and Smith though as you need these sort of players to compliment the flair of Ronaldo, Nani etc but we should now sell Saha and give his position in the squad to Rossi.

i think smith is staying okay ,think he wants to prove that he can play at the top ,as never really had a chance . as for heniz think fergie is stupid to sell him .that is if he is ..?. as for saha dont know if i like him has not really done any thing .but u never know who could turn up before the start of the season.

    Ryan Giggs awarded OBE

United winger Ryan Giggs has been awarded an OBE for services to football in the Queen's Birthday Honours List.
Last season, the 33-year-old won a record ninth league title and became only the second player in United's history to pass the 700 appearance benchmark.
The first, Sir Bobby Charlton - himself a former recipient of the honour before receiving a knighthood - told ManUtd.com of his delight at Giggs' recognition.
"I couldn't have been more pleased if he was a close relative," he said. "Ryan is a fantastic member of Manchester United and the ultimate professional.
"Added to that his marvellous skills and his services to football make him a pleasure to watch. If only he'd have played for England!"
Ryan recently retired from international football after amassing 64 caps over 16 years for Wales.
The honour makes Giggs an Officer of the British Empire, a British order of chivalry. Other United players to receive the honour include Bryan Robson and David Beckham.

Everybody at Manchester United would like to offer Ryan their congratulations.
