the dm600 will do exactly the same for far less money, or the trusty very popular dm7020 is well worth the slight extra on the cost of the technomate. Why do technomate feel this box will be such a success? If you want a cheap copy-dreambox then Relook have that covered. As far as i'm concerned Techomate 9100 market is only for those that presume all technomates must be easy to use. They are riding a wave so trying to cash-in on that.

They will be a decent box but in no way be in the same leagues as- dreambox for professionals or the technomate 1500 series for newbies.

yes, support for 2.5" internal HDD, even in the tiny case thats half the size of the tm9100. The smallest pvr available on the market, cost maybe ~180 quid.

As PinkHelmets has mentioned the Dreambox receivers are cheaper and have had a number of years support behind them already.

Also there new editions have been updated.

The Relook 200 and 400 (better) are also good Linux alternatives, the 200 can be picked up for roughly £100 online, basic setup.

I think Technomate have missed the boat on the Linux based receiver market - still need to know how to setup/config these recievers - so some technical knowledge is needed.
