missing channels and "service not found"
hi everyone, here is my problem, i have just received 2 original boxes that i ordered for my friend from dvb shop, i flashed them with DW 1.61 and when i scanned i got only 80 odd channels, so i tried dw 1.62 and got the same thing. so i then fitted my slx1 booster and tried scanning again, this time i got 130 channels with booster turned up full, even with booster turned up full a few channels are still only at 93% SNR but seem to be clearing fine and BER is 0. i am missing a few channels , i cant see prem plus or PPV channel and a few others i think.
the thing that i dont get is that when i try my box that i have had for about 4months, i dont need a booster and i get ALL channels when i scan.
could these 2 boxes be faulty?why am i not getting the prem plus or ppv channels even with booster?
any ideas folks?
cheers

It could be a bad connection on the tuner somewhere. I know *********** are out of stock on DM500C at the moment so there's a good chance you have received a refurbished box that has been returned by someone else!
There's no harm in emailing them and explain what you've said above. They can't replace them but might offer a refund if you aren't happy!

thanks devilfish, i thought it might be something to do with the tuner, i had this problem with a peng box before but thought it was just due to cheap components, i will email dvb shop later.
in the meantime is there anything else i could try mate?
thanks

dont know if this is worth mentioning mate, but the wire that comes out of the slxbooser connects to another wire, then this wire connects to a connecter, then into the dreambox
would this cause my couple of missing channels?
cheers

Who knows m8. You could try taking the box round to your mates house and scan there. Signal strengths vary at different locations.
Try and limit the number of connections/cables where possible. The more variables you add, the harder it is to diagnose.
