almost there , got it 'streaming' the picture is fooking mint

but...

when it comes to changing the channel it gives me:

'Zap to Channel: BBC FOUR Failed!
The Stream will be stopped!'

if it does manage to change channel after i press the button a few times the picture can be blocky and/or the sound is out of sync ...

If i pick a channel and stay with it from Dreambox reboot it's fine

any ideas?

I'm using DW 1.6 image + the very latest Xbmc (in Xbox stickies) ... would another Dreambox image be better for such efforts?

ps. i'm fooking loving using my Xbox as a second Dreambox and DW 1.6 has served me fine and dandy up to this point doing what it does i'm just being greedy Lol

not completely sure how XBMC works but i know it uses tuxbox enigma images. might be better off asking the xmbc ppl or the xbox forum. but the reason it says the stream will be stopped on changing channel is coz the dreambox will cut the http feed so it can start streaming the new channel feed - unless they are on the same transponder, then they will be on the same (transport) stream and there is no need to cut the stream, u jus change the relevant IDs.

i'm using DW 1.6 'tis an enigma image

i'm pretty sure not many ppl know that Xbox streams DB perfectly (or does it hehe) which when u think about how cheap an Xbox is and to mod .. hmm yummie

yeah makes sense i thought it would have been better sorted though than not being able to switch channels without hassle/rebooting the DB

ps. Dbox2 worked flawlessly before doing the same thing

well to be honest mate all the xbmc software needs to do when the feed gets cut (change channels) is send another http request to http://dreambox-ip/video.m3u and u get the new feed again. and im sure the guys are smart enough to know that lol.

are there any settings in XBMC to make it do something like this?

ive been lookin at the EXACT same setup as u got, modded xbox which u can pick up for about 40 quid. but im hoping the gemini team gets the UPnP Server working better so i can use it for my xbox360 instead of the old xbox.

then again 40 quid is cheaper than a new dreambox but u stuck to the same channel throughout lol.

right ... it could be the disabled http thing that's why it only works well on the first channel 'choosing' then

fook me didn't realise the 360 was on it's way to streaming DB

the only settings relevant to this in the new Xbmc is the ip addy and port (80) of the DB m8, not hard to get right

i shall look at the 'http' option thing on the DB see if that sorts it

two things:

1: http authentication on or off in expert settings made no difference at all.

2: I have it on good authority that the next DW DB image will have a fixed Xbmc plugin ................... Wo0t

Similar problems, works fine until channel change. It is to do with stopping and restarting the stream.

Had to give up on this one a while back, but look forward to someone else getting a seamless transition.

hey mate, i downloaded the xbmc source code, got no luck finding the tuxbox stuff yet, but as u can probably guess its quite a lot of stuff to look thru, i had a glimpse on their wiki and found something that may be helpful thou...

it says something about zap time waiting, its default is 0 (off), might be worth trying it at 15 maybe to see if anything changes. im jus punching at thin air but worth a try i suppose.
